The Kickin Up Dust team began thinking and working on Issue #8 early into 2021, holding a space for the trials that our Outback Australian Communities have faced this year. An endless drought in some parts and a flood of rain causing its own damage in others, we decided it was only right to create an issue of Kickin Up Dust that shines a light on both sides of the challenge that is living and working in rural areas. To our Farmers, Graziers and Rural Communities, this issue is dedicated to YOU. We reached out with an idea, and you have filled our inboxes with heart-breaking stories, wrenching images and an overwhelming amount of gratitude for Kickin Up Dust, providing a space for you.

Not a single feature that is inside this issue has failed in bringing us to tears, we are incredibly grateful for your humility, openness and fighting-spirit. Thank you for sharing such raw and honest insights into your lives on the land, you are an inspiration to Australia.

About Kickin Up Dust:

Our magazine is a homegrown quarterly publication showcasing the heart of Australia through the eyes of down to earth country folk. Every word and photograph is printed using vegetable dyes on 100% Australian recycled paper. It's a beautiful coffee table style book packed full of stunning images collected from people all over our diverse and exhilarating country.
