Emily Kate Photography

Hey, my name is Emily.

But you can call me Em.

I’m a 27 year old Australian girl, in awe of nature and creation who grew up spending a lot of time outdoors, usually with a camera in hand. Over the years that hasn’t changed much, nor has my sense of adventure despite becoming sick in 2009 with ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety & endo. I’ve learnt some hard lessons which has seen me go through varying degrees of struggle in my life to get to a point where I can now manage it all and continue to grow stronger and improve.

My fascination with photography has deepened since becoming sick and has now evolved into something that not only sustains me and brings me joy, but that I can also share with others who are stuck within the isolation of illness or just need a change of scenery.

It has also connected me with amazing people from all over the world, some that I’ve formed lifelong friendships with. I’ve learnt how valuable real, humble, kindhearted, genuine people truly are. True friends and family are all the same to me.

Outside of snapping photos, I also love nature, colour, farm life, animals, swimming, adventuring, horses, old trucks and tractors, all things rustic and anything that is uniquely different and involves creativity and passion. I met my husband at the beginning of 2017 after moving onto the same dirt road he was living on and we were married by the end of it. Good things certainly happen when you least expect them too.
